Biography

Charlie Mysak has prided himself on making emotional, thought-provoking work throughout his career. It reflects pure human narratives, deeply rooted in  realism and rich cinematography.

His spot for AdCouncil ‘Home’ was shortlisted for the 2020 AICP Awards. His award winning short documentary ‘Brooklynn’ received a Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week honors. His spot for Adaptoys won Silver Lion at Cannes, was recognized as a 2017 I&C Disruptor and took home a Webby Award. It was shortlisted for AdAge’s Creativity Awards and an AICP Next Award, as well as The One Show. Charlie was selected for SHOOT’s New Director’s Showcase in 2017 and won Best Emerging Director Award at The One Club’s One Screen Festival. His work has been featured on Today Show, NY Times, Rolling Stone and CNN, to name a few. His latest short documentary ‘Citizen’ played at the Oscar Qualifying Palm Springs International Festival, the largest short film festival in the world. He excels in creating socially conscious projects, and collaborating and developing ideas from the ground up.

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Charlie currently resides in New York with his wife and daughter, as well as their dog, Duke, who acts as on-set mascot from time to time.
