In a world quite full of ambiguously monikered directing teams, TWIN’s duo-name is a tad more transparent. While real twin brothers Jonathan & Josh Baker tout a hive mind approach to their craft, they don’t dress the same and try not to complete each other’s sentences in an uncomfortable way. They’d rather rattle your cage with some arresting filmmaking.
The Australian-born, LA-based directors are an anomaly in their ability to effortlessly traverse genres. Human-based emotional storytelling; intimate grit-brimming sports; music-driven choreography, all with VFX seamlessly sprinkled throughout — the brothers Baker know how to tell a captivating story, no matter the sandbox. Yet somehow when you watch their entire body of work, it all feels undeniably TWIN.
